The Ariège is easily reached by car or plane. Les Deux Vélos is located just outside the small village of Biert and 1.5 km from Massat, a slightly larger village with amenities such as a number of shops, bar/restaurants and a tourist office. The larger towns in our immediate region are Saint-Girons and Foix. The nearest really big city is Toulouse, about 2 hours drive away.

By car

The village of Biert, to which Les Deux Vélos belongs, is located approximately 25 km from St. Girons through the valley of the river L’Arac. The journey time is approximately 30 minutes. Travelling along the D618 from St. Girons to Massat, just past Biert, you will find the cycling hotel Les Deux Vélos on the left at kilometre marker 52. Coming from the direction of Foix, approximately 40 km, it takes an hour to get here. At Tarascon, follow the signs for Massat and Col de Port. After descending from there, you will reach Massat. Stay on the D618 towards Biert and after 1.5 km you will find us on the right at kilometre marker 52.

By plane

The two nearest airports are Toulouse and Carcassonne. KLM/AirFrance and EasyJet fly to Toulouse, RyanAir to Carcassonne from Eindhoven. Car rental is possible at both. From Toulouse airport it is another hour and a half drive to our place in Biert. From Carcassonne 2 hours. By public transport you can also travel to St.Girons or Tarascon.

We can arrange transport to and from both airports, as well as from the stations in Saint-Girons and Tarascon.
