Who are we?
We are Annabel and Elias, and from February onwards we will be the very proud owners of Les Deux Vélos! Originally from the Netherlands, we are hoping to make our dreams come true in the beautiful French Pyrenees. We completely fell in love with the house and its surroundings and can’t wait to share our love for this special place with our guests.
We are taking over the small-scale cycling hotel Les Deux Vélos from Mark and Elma, who have built it up over eighteen years into what it is today: a beautiful house with tastefully decorated rooms and all the facilities needed to truly pamper road cyclists and other bike enthusiasts. We are stepping into a well-established and thoughtfully run place, with plenty of room for our passions: cycling, nature, cooking, and welcoming people.
Love for the bike!
Elias has always been a competitive cyclist and now works as a cycling journalist. He writes for several cycling magazines, such as Procycling, and collaborates with various brands, for example Cannondale. Annabel has worked for years in museums as a manager and curator, but nowadays she prefers to be in the vegetable garden or on her bike. In recent years, she also cooked in a music venue, preparing meals for bands and their crews. Whenever possible, our dishes feature fresh produce straight from the garden.
We love helping our guests make the most of their stay: from planning the most beautiful cycling routes to giving your bike a final check. And at the end of the day, we gather for a lovingly prepared three-course dinner, tailored to the needs of the hungry cyclist.
Winter Full of Love around the corner
Does the surroundings look familiar? That might be the case! In early 2024, the film crew of Winter Vol Liefde stayed here while recording episodes with Judith and Bart, who live nearby. The entire crew was accommodated at Les Deux Vélos, and several shots in the programme feature the immediate surroundings of our house. If the landscape already looked beautiful on TV, it’s definitely worth coming to experience just how impressive it is in real life.
